It was a Pyramid event-one of the Seven Wonders of the World!

The Giza Pyramid, located by the west bank of the Nile River near Cairo in Egypt, is one of the Seven Wonders of the world.

I wonder why this pyramid was chosen for the Seven Wonders?  The Seven Wonders list included great architectural structures of the time. The Great Pyramid of Giza is 480 feet high (30 feet has been eroded from the top, and some say that the summit was never completed). The Giza was constructed with two million blocks of stone, each weighing over two to seven tons each, and 100,000 laborers. That is amazing and astonishing when you think about it – that is about 30 Empire State buildings!

This pyramid was built around 2600 BC, by Pharaoh Khofu. The pyramids were designed for Egyptian kings and their families to rest until their final journey into the afterlife. Today in Egypt there are 80 identified pyramids.

Our family’s experience in virtual Egypt was fascinating: eating great North African foods; enjoying stories about the origins of the food; embracing a new culture; and widening our experiences beyond our borders to embrace a new wonder.

I hope that whatever it is you do, whether it’s strolling in the park, dining alfresco with a loved one, watching a corny love story with your pet, or even cooking a new recipe, that wonderment and newness surround you and yours. Join me and my family as we venture into the next new country. We have been cooking for two days and it is unbelievably awesome!!!  But first, it’s a night of Bedouin fun and Nubian adventure.

From my family to yours!

See you later! اشوفك بعدين
